About the Course

Bex Tasker of Positively Together is coming to your home town to share her expertise and passion for equine behaviour and reward-based training. Bex is a certified trainer specialising in positive reinforcement with equines. Expect a supportive environment for both horse and human learners; practical training solutions; and lots of laughs and interesting discussions with likeminded people.

Come along if you are interested in:

  • understanding how to incorporate positive reinforcement into your training and everyday interactions

  • connection at liberty and making groundwork into groundplay!

  • improving responsiveness and lightness under saddle

  • gentle, effective problem solving

  • less resistance and conflict with your horse, more trust and connection

  • having fun WITH your horse, not just ON your horse

No fear, no force, just fun (and incredible, tangible results).

Whether you're completely new to reward-based training or looking to enhance existing skills, this clinic is suitable for all ages and stages, horse types and levels of experience.

PRICE:

Training with your horse $400 (both days)

Non-training participant $50 one day or $80 for both

OK but why?

Positive reinforcement produces horses that are confident and motivated to learn and play with you. You will experience increased motivation, enjoyment and connection with your horse. Whether it's riding, liberty, worming, hoof care - you name it, it's all just a fun game they're keen to be part of!

THE CLINIC

Come and join us for two days of positive reinforcement / clicker training with your horse. You will learn through discussion, individual coaching with your horse, simulation games and exercises, and observing others with their horses. Clinics are small, safe, supportive, and inspiring. The focus at all times is on building a calm connection and relaxed focus.

Day 1: Bex will teach you how to use food rewards correctly - as reinforcement to inspire behaviour change, not as a bribe, a crutch or a band-aid. Is your horse a cookie monster? Never fear! Learn how to explain the rules around food so they can relax and focus, and you can stop having your pockets mugged. Topics include introduction to positive reinforcement, horse psychology and how horses learn; preventing and resolving food anxiety; useful and safe foundations on the ground. Build connection and trust with your horse while establishing confidence and clarity for both of you.

Day 2: Now that we understand how to get started, discover how to advance the practical application of reward-based training on the ground and in the saddle. Content will be tailored to the humans and horses in attendance, so bring your requests and questions! We usually cover aspects of groundwork, liberty, riding, problem solving (e.g. bridling, hoof care, worming and needles).

At Positively Together clinics we don't hand out recipes for "how to train" your horse.  We explore two-way communication, figure out what your horse needs to feel safe and perform at their best, and keep the focus on enhancing peaceful cooperation and mutual joy in all your interactions.

These clinics are very practical and interactive and you will leave with the confidence to immediately apply what you've learned at home. Discover positive reinforcement and reap the benefits for performance, problem-solving and your horse-human relationship.
