The amazing "Animal Magic" trick show
We bring our trained animals to events, schools and community spaces to entertain, educate, and spread joy.
The "Animal Magic" trick show features the Wool Puppies sheep troupe as well as our clever and cuddly dog. Watch them perform amazing tricks and learn how we train them. You might be chosen to play soccer with Rupert or have your mind read by Baarnaby!
We also deliver engaging and interactive dog safety and dog training demonstrations, tailored for your audience.
In the spring you may find us sharing the joy of our newborn lambs with local care homes and retirement villages.
We regularly travel to A&P shows, markets, schools, fairs, pet expos and community events across the Bay of Plenty and further afield.
In between performances our calm and friendly trained animals mingle with guests, enjoy cuddles, and pose for photos.
Our animals are also available for rural weddings, birthdays, and other events where you want something memorable, and a little unexpected!

Farm Visits
The Friendly Farm animal experience

Group tours and private sessions can be tailored to your needs and requirements. We have an AirBnB unit available upon request.
All ages and abilities are welcomed. Please note we are not fully wheelchair accessible at this time.
We have hosted events ranging from 75 children and whanau members for a daycare Christmas party, to classes of university students, rest home or care home groups of 8-10 people, through to individuals or family groups wanting their own private session with the animals.
OUR ANIMALS:
Our miniature horses are placid and safe and love to be brushed and fussed over. We have two breeds of sheep at the Friendly Farm- the Valais Blacknose, also known as "the cutest sheep in the world", and babydoll sheep, also known as "smiling sheep" for their happy smiling faces and friendly natures.
We also have a variety of horses, Flemish Giant rabbits, rescue chickens, cockatiels, pet cows, Kunekune pigs and more. All our animals love to say hello, be fed treats from your hand and have their photos taken. If you visit in the spring, we will have lambs in the paddock. Our sheep are all very friendly and come up to eat treats from your hand, bringing their cute bouncy lambs with them. We often have bottle-fed lambs also, who are always keen for a cuddle.
GROUP TOURS:
Learn about the animals who live here, their breeds and how we take care of them. After you have met the animals and admired the expansive view out to the Tauranga harbour, take a seat to enjoy the show! Have you ever seen a sheep playing fetch or chickens playing soccer? The amazing horses, sheep and dogs will show off their tricks and you can learn the secrets of how we train them.
Depending on the interests and needs of your group, the visit can be as hands on as you like - groom the mini horses and learn to lead a sheep around an obstacle course, or simply sit and watch the show then interact over the fence with our gentle friendly animals.
PRIVATE SESSIONS:
These are usually an hour, and can be tailored to your interest! Get hands on with your favourite animals. We will teach you all about how we care for and train them, and show you how to interact safely with them. Pony rides are available for a small extra cost (maximum rider weight of 65kg).
