TERM THREE - Mentoring & coaching programme for the new-to-horses parent and child team
Week 1: Workshop 1 - August 2nd, 4pm
Parents and kid/s attend a family workshop where we start from the ground up. We'll go over the practicalities like safety, catching, haltering, grooming, rugging and saddling. The logistics like purchasing/leasing, grazing, daily care. The health and maintenance like hoof care, veterinary and nutrition. And more. (How do I find the right pony? What do I feed it? How do I keep my child safe? My child says the pony NEEDS these $250 boots, is this true? There are no silly questions and we are here to help regardless of your level of knowledge).
These workshops are very small groups (capped at only 3-4 families) and you get TWO coaches!
Week 2-4: Riding lessons x 3
You attend THREE private 45 minute riding/horsemanship lessons working with Kowhai, our experienced riding school pony, or if you prefer you can bring your own pony (note this is 3 lessons per family, so if you have multiple children you can divide these 3 lessons up how you wish between them)
Week 5: Workshop 2 - August 30th, 4pm
Our final family workshop where we will wrap up our learning, and you can bring all your questions so you can walk away with clarity and confidence.
During the workshops there'll be opportunities for the adults to chat and ask questions privately while the kids are busy, as well as hands-on practice for both parents and kids. I promise to be straight up and straight-talking about what's involved in keeping a pony. No sugar-coating! Think of this like a mentoring and coaching programme for the parent and child team.

5 week programme $290 per family
