Who is the workshop for?
Pony-mad, animal-crazy kids! Children who may not have a pony of their own, but with a love for ponies and an interest in how to train and care for them. The workshop content is aimed at 7-12 year olds. Please note this workshop does not include horse riding; we will be working with miniature horses. What will the kids be doing on the day?
The children will be assigned a miniature horse for the duration of the workshop. They will learn:
Many of these lessons are relevant for family pets as much as they are for horses. If possible we will also spend a little time hands-on with another species, such as a sheep, talking about the similarities in how different species learn, and the differences in how they communicate. |

How much does it cost?
The workshop is $60 per child attending. Included in this price is:
Can mum/dad/aunty/etc stay to watch?
Absolutely, especially if the child feels nervous or anxious to be left (this is meant to be fun, after all!). If your child is comfortable we respectfully ask you to quietly watch rather than participate, so that our team can concentrate on the children and animals in our care. Alternatively, while the workshop is running we encourage you (and any siblings or other family/friends) to explore beautiful Bullswool Farm & Nature Park. With native bush trails, hundreds of animals to feed and interact with, kids bike tracks and numerous giant interactive play structures including a pirate ship, wooden digger and a helicopter, there is something for every interest and age group. Bring a picnic lunch to eat under the trees once your child finishes the workshop, and stay and play for the day. |
