ALL SPACES FILLED SORRY - NOW BUILDING A WAIT LIST
FAQ:
Where is the venue?
Riverbank Farm Equine - 124 Riverbank Road, Otaki Riverbank Farm is the home base of Jane and Ray Lenaghan. It has full facilities including barn with microwave, fridge and toilet, yards, roundpen, arena, jumps etc. It also backs directly onto the Otaki river - perfect for a stroll along the paths and stop banks alongside the water. What will we be doing at the retreat? Keep an eye on our Facebook pages and the event page for details. Sessions are still being finalised but will include mindfulness; equine body language and communication; reward- and consent-based training; trust banking; rider confidence; trail rides and arena obstacle play; followship, fellowship and leadership; how to gain clarity and focus and achieve your goals, and much more. And that is just during the day! After our evening meal we will all gather around the campfire with a wine or cup of tea and continue the conversations. This is a chance to really indulge in all the interesting discussions, tangents, questions and stories that often have to be curtailed during a "normal" clinic. I am a nervous rider and/or have a green horse, is the retreat suitable for me? We will be structuring the weekend to ensure that there are options available for everyone, regardless of skill or confidence level. Two of our core themes for the retreat are "Confidence" and "Joy", and so we intend that everyone will feel comfortable and have fun while at the retreat, and leave with new and useful tools and skillsets to build confidence and bring joy into their horse time. |
Can I come without a horse?

Human participants must organise their own sleeping quarters, e.g. a tent, float, truck, caravan etc. There will be no power to camp sites. The horses will be accommodated in yards or paddocks.
