Bex Tasker (New Zealand) is a certified trainer (KPA-CTP) specialising in force-free training. She is an avid trainer of all species, from horses and dogs to sheep, chickens, pigs and more. She will be joined by the talented Claire of Wonder Pets All Animal Training and her menagerie.

At this special one-day clinic, branch out and experience the joy of communicating with a wide variety of species. Animals will likely include horses, sheep, chickens, parrots, and pigs. This clinic is open to all but most suitable for animal enthusiasts, amateurs and professionals, to build on their knowledge and training skills with other species.

This is a unique opportunity to learn how to truly "speak to the animals". Training alternative species to our usual is a hugely beneficial way to sharpen our training mechanics, improve behaviour observation skills, enhance our understanding of how to approach a training problem and our creativity and skills in solving it. You might not have aspirations to become a professional pig or chicken trainer, but trust us - these animals have MANY crucial lessons to teach us that we can take back to pet or working dogs, horses, wildlife centres etc.

Using the principles of “Think Plan, Do!” we will discuss the basic ethology of each animal and how that influences our training plans, we will choose species-appropriate behaviours, construct a training plan and put it all into action with significant hands-on training time with each of the animals. Throughout you will be coached to support you in developing your training skills.

Spaces strictly limited and minimum numbers apply.
