10-3pm, once per month Does your child or teen love the outdoors and animals? Animal Adventurers is the new therapeutic animal-focused programme from Positively Together. This once per month full-day programme is specifically designed to accommodate children and youth with mild to moderate disabilities, medical complexities, neurodivergence or other additional needs.
This group has a 1:4 ratio with two trained youth workers who have over 40 years combined experience with supporting individuals with disabilities. Join a small cohort of like-minded young people and spend time outdoors learning how to take care of our friendly, trained animals including sheep, horses, pigs, dogs, bunnies, cockatiels, chickens and much more.
Our multi-faceted programme promotes personal growth, self-confidence, resilience and social connections, while embracing the therapeutic benefit of animals and nature. This programme can be used for respite care individualised funding. Animal Adventurers is disability inclusive, however our facilities are unfortunately not fully wheelchair accessible at this time. Individual support workers, caregivers or parents are most welcome to stay for each session, or to drop and go.
